About Kim Roche

Over the past ten years, Kim Roche has helped thousands of dogs of all breeds, temperaments and sizes with her simple, compassionate and effective methods.

She began her career in dogs when she was invited to apprentice with Lee Mannix at the Lee Mannix Center for Canine Behavior, eventually becoming his head trainer. In late 2004, she started her own company. She has spent time in close study with a diverse range of leading trainers and behaviorists, including a trip to England for an intensive course with John Rogerson, one of the world's most highly regarded experts in dog aggression and behavior. She continues to keep abreast of new developments in the field by attending seminars and conferences whenever her schedule permits. Kim is shameless when bragging about her beloved Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie cross, Darren CGC, PDI, NAC, NGC, NJC. When she is not playing with dogs, she enjoys performing live music and improvised comedy.

Kim donates her time and services to a number of local animal rescue groups and is firmly committed to helping reduce the number of dogs and cats euthanized in Austin each year.

"Kim is a wonderful influence on my rescued dog, Treasure. Kim's patience helped bring Treasure from a place of insecurity, shyness and fear of men to being a confident dog and a wonderful companion for her humans!" – Zoe Irene and Stan Van Zandt and Treasure

"Kim Roche has been working with my dog Ruby in a variety of capacities for close to two years. Ruby is a high energy, extremely smart cattle dog mix. In short, she's a HANDFUL. After several unsuccessful training attempts, I wondered if I could ever get her to a place where I could manage her. But after we started working with Kim, Ruby turned around seemingly overnight. Kim gave us the tools to get the bad behavior under control. Now we can ENJOY Ruby instead of feel constantly frustrated by her. Whenever she sees Kim for training or day trips, Ruby explodes with happiness. I can't think of higher praise for Kim." – Katie Coburn and Ruby

"Our little family started training with Kim right after we got our dog Cleo from Town Lake Animal Center. Though both my husband and I had family dogs, she was our first dog that was 100% our responsibility. We were concerned about Cleo, who looked like she had pit bull in her and had a lot of nervous energy. She'd never had any structure in her life before, and we wanted to introduce it early. Almost 2 years later, we couldn't ask for a better dog - or a better trainer! Cleo responds to Kim in an amazing way, but more importantly she taught us how to be good "parents". She's stood by us through it all, including Cleo's unfortunate bout with OCD. I don't know what our life would be like had we not started with Kim right from the beginning, and I don't want to know!" – Kristina Barnett and Cleo

"When I first adopted Gretchen, I came home with 60 pounds of fear, timidity, and neurotic behavior hiding a loving heart. With Kim's training in class, I became equipped to nurture that heart and allay much of that fear. Kim's gentle, consistent, and creative approach has helped Gretchen learn to trust and play. While Gretchen will always be shy, she is well on her way to being a confident, obedient, and affectionate companion. Thanks, Kim, for helping Gretchen and I become best friends!" – Michelle Ludwig and Gretchen
